DNA Refutes Silly Season Rumor

 December 20, 2011

Dear DNA Supporters,

Today, a rumor began circulating, once again, that your DNA has made a secret deal to join with the FNM. I would like to say emphatically that THERE IS NO DEAL with the FNM, secret or otherwise, and there will NEVER BE ANY.

The Democratic National Alliance was formed some seven months ago to provide Bahamian people with a real and viable alternative to the same old status quo political partnership of Ingraham, Christie and Company that ruled over us for almost a quarter of a century and has stifled and will continue to stifle the progress of Bahamian people as long as they remain in power. The DNA was started to put Bahamians first in their own country, to empower them to be owners of their own destinies, and to ensure that our country and its people get back on track to achieving true independence and first world status.

The DNA Party has always maintained that, in the event we are not the government of The Bahamas after this next general election and the Party has to be the deciding factor in who will govern The Bahamas, we WILL NOT have a coalition with the PLP or the FNM.

Both leaders of the PLP and the FNM recognize the potential in the DNA to send them off into the political sunset, and as such, they have their propaganda machinery focused heavily on us; but as a local song suggests, “dog don’t bark at park car.” The DNA has become such a well-oiled machine that it has put a tremendous fear in both of these established organizations, and the present noise in the market and the noise that will come in the ensuing weeks and months is evidence of this fear.

I, and the executives of the Party, continue to ask our supporters to remain focused on the goal of taking our country back from the one true Bahamian political coalition and partnership, Christie, Ingraham and Co. Now, more than ever, we as an organization must understand that this and the change that we seek are going to require sacrifice and a fighting spirit. Going into the New Year, we must be prepared with both.

I ask that God continue to strengthen our organization, each and every member of the organization, and the entire Commonwealth of The Bahamas. In the end, He will see us victorious.

Sincerely,

Branville McCartney, Leader

Democratic National Alliance
